ABOUT AURORA:
I’m Aurora, I’m 13 years old, I like the outdoors, anime, dogs, film, art, music (especially making my own beats & rhymes), books, and writing. I love my best friend is Bella, my other friends, computers, basketball, the Jets, cats, pancakes AND waffles, meat pizza, and carnivals. I don’t really dislike anything except pink, cheerleaders, and SUPER-happy people.
ABOUT AURORA’S FILM PROJECT:
TITLE: Half & Half
SUBJECT: Inter-racial/bi-racial/mixed kids
Last year, I heard a judge refused to sign a marriage certificate for a couple because one was white and one was black. He said, it did it (or didn’t do it) for the sake of the children. I wondered what he meant by that, I’m bi-racial and I love my life, in fact, any issues that me and my sister have experienced have been caused by people who think like him and well, I’m sick of it. I have chosen to do a film on mixed race kids so people can see how WE feel, what WE think and for them to understand, that WE will be just fine if THEY would stop being so weird!
AURORA ON SOCIAL-JUSTICE FILMS:
I think it’s important to make social-justice films because it has the power to inform many people about important issues in the world.
